Megan Aaron, ACMHC, NCC
Megan Aaron, ACMHC, NCC, recently graduated from Southern Methodist University with her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an addiction specialty. Her internship semesters were spent in a men’s residential addiction rehab center, working with men in addiction recovery dealing with severe trauma. With an EFT and person-centered approach, Megan meets clients where they are while focusing on emotional healing. Her philosophy is that every client already has everything they need within themselves, and her job is to guide them to their best self. Megan focuses on attachment-based work, using family-of-origin and early childhood wounds to heal traumas. She has experience in sand tray, somatic experiencing, and IFS parts work. She finds creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to feel seen and heard most important.
Megan’s passions lie in working with couples dealing with specialized issues such as infidelity, betrayal trauma, porn/sex addiction, intimacy issues, co-parenting, infertility, and any other relationship hardships couples may be facing. In her couples’ work, she helps couples navigate issues as a team while highlighting patterns that may be keeping them stuck. Additionally, she values working with individuals on healing their inner child, working through early attachment wounds, healing body-image issues, navigating relationships, and recovering from addiction. Megan strongly values personal growth, so she finds joy in helping others live as the best version of themselves, whether individually or as a couple.
Megan is empathetic and genuine, approaching her therapeutic work with compassion and warmth. Having been through many years of therapy herself, she knows what it feels like to be in the client chair, so she strives to be an approachable, authentic therapist. Megan has been passionate about mental health since a young age and has always known she wanted to be a therapist.
Outside of therapy, Megan most enjoys lifting, running, hiking, skiing, reading, and simply being outdoors enjoying the beautiful views. She spent most of her life in Pennsylvania, where her family is from, moved to Texas for grad school, and has now relocated to Utah for the mountains! She has an extensive background in athletics, having spent many years as a competitive distance runner. Now, you can find Megan slowing down and enjoying quality time with her partner and dog.
